Surgical Experts You Can Trust

Certain types of skin cancers, cancerous lesions, and pre-cancerous lesions require surgical intervention to be properly addressed. While this might sound like a daunting fact, the truth is that skin cancer is easier to address when it’s caught early on. By visiting The Dermatology Center for yearly skin cancer screenings, you can catch these issues before they become serious, and enjoy a treatment experience that is relatively mild. No matter what your specific situation may be, you can trust the board-certified dermatologists here at The Dermatology Center to offer you the surgical expertise needed to help you enjoy relief from skin cancer and other concerns.

Visiting Us for Your Consultation

Interested in learning more about what The Dermatology Center can do for you? We’re excited to be offering patients in Fredericksburg and the nearby areas a series of both medical and non-medical skincare services that’ll help you enjoy healthy, clear skin that lasts. Reach out and speak with a member of our team when you’re ready to set up your initial consultation.

This consultation will give us the ability to learn about your skin cancer, determine its severity, and create a treatment plan that sees you receiving the treatment option that is right for you and your needs. We’ll also have the opportunity to walk you through your upcoming surgical experience, going over the techniques we’ll be using and explaining the procedure to you in thorough detail. We like to work closely with our patients and help them enjoy total peace of mind while they’re on their journey with us at The Dermatology Center.

Surgical Skin Excision

Certain types of skin cancer or precancerous lesions require excision to be properly addressed. Excision surgery involves the removal of both cancerous tumors and precancerous lesions, and typically also involves the removal of some additional healthy tissue in the area.

This procedure is typically performed with local anesthesia. Once the excision is complete, the area will be closed with sutures. You’ll be given detailed aftercare instructions and a very clear idea of what you can expect from this procedure during your initial consultation.
