Is laser hair removal permanent?GentleLase and GentleYAG lasers are FDA-cleared for "permanent hair reduction"' which assumes that there will be either no regrowth or long intervals before hair regrows. Lasers treat active hair follicles but do not treat hair follicles that are in the inactive phase of the hair cycle. These follicles may eventually become active depending on your age and hormone status and may produce hair in the years to come.
How many laser treatments are needed?This varies widely, depending on the area(s) to be treated and the scope of your hair removal needs. In general, we recommend five treatments. This will be discussed during your consultation when we can evaluate your specific needs.
