Ellipse Intense Pulsed Light Man  Ellipse Intense Pulsed Light Woman

The Ellipse is a second generation intense pulsed light used primarily for the treatment of the "sun spots" on the face, neck, chest, and hands. It can safely be used for any area on the body that has sun damage. One to two treatments are usually recommended for complete removal of these dark spots. Areas with extensive sun damage may require more treatments. It also improves mild redness on the face from sun damage or rosacea.

How much does it hurt?

It is pulses of intense heat. Most people tolerate it very well. Ice packs can be used after your treatment. Tylenol can be taken prior to your procedure.

What will I look like after my treatment?

The spots will get darker and gradually fall off. It may look like you got splattered with mud because your spots will be so dark.

How long does it take for the dark spots to go away?

On the face, it takes 7-10 days. Arms and other body parts take 3-4 weeks.

Can I wear make-up after my treatment?

Yes, you can wear make-up to cover your dark spots. We recommend a mineral based makeup, like Jane Iredale that is good for your skin and won't clog your pores.

Are the spots going to come back?

They can if you don't wear SPF 30 or higher daily. And even then sometimes people do see the spots return.

How many treatments will I need?

Usually 1-2 treatments are necessary. Larger areas such as the back, chest, or arms may require additional treatments.
